  • 'In December 2011 I graduated from the University of New South Wales (Canberra) doctoral program through the Australian Defence Force Academy. The title of my thesis is 'Travel Writers, Museums and Reflections of Empire 1770-1901'. It was very rewarding to research and write.'  Click here to access Dr. Russell's thesis in Trove. 

  • 'I am happy to have been appointed recently as a Research Associate of the Centre for Historical Research in the National Museum of Australia for 2012 - 2013.'

  • 'In May I attended an Academic Symposium in Gwangju, Republic of Korea, held to celebrate the first anniversary of the inscription of documents on the UNESCO Memory of the World Register relating to the 18 May 1980 Uprising in Gwangju - a defining moment in the achievement of democracy in South Korea.' Ros presented a paper at the Symposium about cities with human rights records inscribed on the UNESCO Memory of the World Register.

Congratulations to Roslyn upon the award of her PhD, in addition to her other recent outstanding efforts to promote movable cultural history and heritage.
